STRATEGY 3: Actively engage students, alumni, and stakeholders in the promotion of the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine

INITIATIVES:

Timeline: December 2017

  • Establish official partnership with the Rehabilitation Medicine Students Association (RMSA) to promote rehabilitation and the Faculty

Timeline: December 2018/2019

  • Expand and coordinate community outreach efforts throughout the Faculty (Clarify who is the target audience, and define the scope and intent of community outreach)

MEASURES OF SUCCESS:

  • Create RMSA Terms of Reference to outline role as ambassadors, leaders and philanthropists
  • Create and host an annual faculty fundraising events led by students in support of student scholarships, awards, bursaries and community engagement activities (student clinics)

PROGRESS TO DATE:

  • RMSA Terms of Reference created and approved
  • New events planned for fall 2018 for specific alumni life cycle audiences
  • FRM researchers participating in Alumni Weekend "U of A in a Day" and Educated Luncheon series
  • Starfish pins distributed at Convocation to all new graduates (June 2018)
  • RMSA partnership established and progressing
  • New plan for 2019/20 year with RMSA executive
  • Grad 2019
  • Ambassador package for RMSA (establish this with new exec and launch Sept 2019)
