Student Resources

SHINE Youth Clinic

SHINE stands for the "Student Health Initiative for the Needs of Edmonton". We provide services through an outreach model in two locations: iHuman and the Stanley A. Milner Library. Our outreach is run by student and preceptor volunteers, as well as youth from the population SHINE serves. Volunteers and preceptors are from various health science backgrounds, including Public Health, Nursing, Medicine, and Pharmacy.

The focus on our services is to help youth navigate through the existing health and social care system, to accompany youth to services if they identify the need, and to provide access to health education resources.

Currently, outreach at the Stanley A. Milner library is on Fridays from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. SHINE volunteers and preceptors can be identified by a button we wear with our organization’s logo.
