Department of Physical Therapy

The Master's of Science in Physical Therapy (MScPT) program at the University of Alberta is one of 15 physical therapy programs in Canada (10 English, 5 French). It is an accredited, graduate, professional, entry-level physical therapy (PT) program, and is one of the largest in Canada with approximately 110 students admitted per year.

The Masters of Physical Therapy program graduates are prepared to meet the current and future challenges of client-centered, evidence-informed, interprofessional practice. They represent tomorrow's professional leaders.

Department of Occupational Therapy

The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MScOT) at the University of Alberta is a 26-month course-based master’s program. This program prepares students for a career in occupational therapy. Occupational therapists (OTs) help people get back to meaningful everyday activities. They work with people of all ages who have experienced an illness affecting physical or mental health, an injury, or a disability.

Department of Communication Sciences + Disorders

The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (MSc SLP) at the University of Alberta is an accredited two-year course-based master’s program with a thesis option.

Our competency-based MSc SLP program is part of the nationally and internationally recognized Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine. The Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine also includes graduate programs in Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy, which allows for interprofessional opportunities within the graduate program.
