What does CHEEP offer community children?
- A small class consisting of seven children with special needs and three community children. The teacher, SLP and therapist assistant work full-time in the classroom and other specialists and students are frequently also engaged in school programming.
- All the children are immersed in a language rich preschool setting with exposure to literacy-based programming.
- Community children have the opportunity to work and play with peers who have special needs, as well as peers who are typically developing. School staff model and encourage tolerance and empathy.
- Participation in a preschool program in which activities and daily routines are developed by a team of developmental specialists.
