Course facilitator

Dr. Sanja Schreiber is a researcher, educator, and clinician. She is an Adjunct Professor of Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta and the Owner/Director of Curvy Spine, a specialized center for treating spinal deformities and training physiotherapists in scoliosis-specific physiotherapy. With a PhD in Rehabilitation Medicine and MSc and BSc degrees in Sports Medicine and Kinesitherapy, she has conducted postdoctoral work and held senior research positions at the University of Alberta and Alberta Health Services. Sanja regularly publishes her work and is frequently invited to speak at international conferences and meetings. She co-authored the SOSORT 2016 Scoliosis Guidelines and has served in leadership roles within the International Society on Scoliosis Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Treatment (SOSORT). Throughout her academic career, she has received numerous research awards. Her primary objective is to raise awareness about scoliosis through education, research, and volunteering. Sanja strives to foster collaboration among scoliosis practitioners to ensure the best possible care for individuals with scoliosis and other spinal disorders.

Format

The course content is delivered 100% asynchronously meaning there is no requirement to be online at a specific class date and time. Participants can complete the learning activities in a place and time of their choosing. Content is accessible twenty four (24) hours-a-day from any location with an internet connection.

Assessment

There are no grades for this course. Instead, students receive a complete or incomplete score based on satisfactory completion of the course. To successfully complete the course students are required to work through all learning activities and achieve 60% on all the knowledge check quizzes at the end of each module. Students are given unlimited quiz attempts and can challenge these at any time throughout the course.

Recognition

Upon completion of each module participants will be issued a faculty digital certificate noting the number of educational hours.
