Summer Walking Study: Working with Older Immigrants in their Communities

In the summer of 2019, a walking program was launched in conjunction with Rahma Mosque to address the social and physical activity needs of immigrant communities. The evaluation of a 10-week outdoor walking program included assessments of participants' mobility, and balance. Fitbits were used to track physical activity. Participants were also attended a workshop on topics related to walking outdoors in Edmonton (e.g. proper footwear, fall prevention).
