Rehabilitation Medicine Students' Association (RMSA)

What is the RMSA?

The Rehabilitation Medicine Students' Association is YOUR official student body representative group! We represent all Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (FRM) students: OT, PT, SLP, and Rehabilitation Sciences. Our mission is to enhance FRM students' well-being through interdisciplinary collaboration, opportunities for professional development, and student representation. We aim to foster an inclusive, interdisciplinary community where all students feel supported and represented in the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine.

What does the RMSA do?

  • Enhance the overall FRM student experience through services in student spaces such as the RMSA lounge in Corbett Hall, complimentary amenities in the Corbett Cafe, social events, and initiatives at satellite campuses.
  • Represent and advocate for FRM student voices to all levels of the University of Alberta, as needed, including but not limited to the FRM, the Graduate Students' Association (GSA), and department-specific FRM student groups (i.e. OASIS, OTPDC, and APSA).
  • Promote and support the well-being of FRM students through mental health initiatives.
  • Provide professional development and interdisciplinary opportunities through activities such as an interdisciplinary conference, workshops, and educational events.
  • Provide leadership opportunities through positions on the RMSA Council, volunteer positions, and the opportunities to present in interdisciplinary conferences or symposiums.
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility and transparency by ensuring all revenue is put towards activities, services, and operations that will be meaningful for the general FRM student body (e.g. subsidies and scholarships).
