NSERC Community Engagement Visit - May 28, 2018

Meet NSERC representatives in person, ask questions and get updates. Please RSVP.

15 May 2018

Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) representatives Elizabeth Boston and Sophie Debrus will be at the University of Alberta on May 28 for an NSERC community engagement visit.

Elizabeth Boston is the Director, Mathematical, Environmental and Physical Sciences and Sophie Debrus is a Program Officer in the Discovery Grant chemistry evaluation group. NSERC engagements visits have been a successful tool for the agency and the community to share information and build linkages. They allow researchers, students and other stakeholders to connect and learn more about recent developments and get the latest program and policy updates.

These visits also offer a platform for the community to ask questions, to seek direct information from some of NSERC's grants, scholarships and partnerships experts, and to provide input on our programs, policies and initiatives.

Some of the topics that they plan to discuss include:

  • Highlights from Federal Budget 2018
  • Updates on NSERC's programs and support for People, Discovery and Innovation
  • Policy updates including NSERC's Framework on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

The session will feature a presentation with opportunities for questions and comments from attendees.

Date: Monday, May 28, 2018
Time: 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Location: L1-160, Centennial Centre for Interdisciplinary Science (CCIS)
