The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) Major Science Initiatives (MSI) 2017-2022 Competition Call For Proposals has been launched.

CFI has released the official Call for Proposals and other competition documents for the MSI 2017-2022 Competition. The CFI created the MSI funding mechanism in response to a mandate it received in 2010 to design a systematic approach for evaluating and addressing the operating and and maintenance (O&M) funding needs of national research facilities, as well as their scientific performance, and to ensure they have in place robust management and governance policies and practices.

Through this 2017-2022 competition, the CFI will continue to contribute to the ongoing O&M needs of national research facilities for which the loss or absence of support would represent a serious setback for Canada.

The first draft of the Notice of Intent was due to the RSO on November 16, 2015. Please note that the Notice of Intent must be submitted through the CFI Awards Management System (CAMS) no later than December 21, 2015. The NOI should clearly articulate how a facility meets all seven eligibility criteria. The NOI must be reviewed and submitted via Research Services Office.
