Internal Peer Review (this does not apply to FoMD)
Purpose: To provide applicants with feedback on a near-final version of their CIHR application through a meeting between the applicant and 2 reviewers.
Note: Applicants seeking feedback on proposals submitted to a previous competition should participate in a Feedback Debrief if they received helpful and robust reviews on their last submission. Internal reviews are organized for resubmissions only where there is sufficient time between release of the results from the funding agency on the original submission and the deadline for the resubmission.
Declare Intent to Participate: Interested applicants should email cihrgrants@ualberta.ca with the following:
- Title of application and 1-page summary of the proposal;
- List of any co-applicants;
- Project peer review committee to which your application is likely to be submitted;
- Names of 4 - 6 University of Alberta faculty who may be contacted to participate as reviewers. (See the lists of UAlberta faculty who have reviewed at CIHR for Project Grants, and those who have received Project Awards.);
- Email request to cihrgrants@ualberta.ca by July 16, 2021.
Feedback Debriefs for Submitted Proposals
Purpose: To provide a forum to examine the comments received from the Reviewers and Scientific Officer on an unfunded application. During the meeting participants should:
- discuss interpretations of comments from the Reviewers and Scientific Officer;
- develop clear suggestions for modifying the application prior to re-submission.
Note: New applications should be discussed in an Internal Review rather than a Feedback Debrief.
