Nanotechnology Initiative

A renewed UAlberta/National Research Council collaboration

UAlberta and National Research Council of Canada (NRC) have renewed their collaborative nanotechnology research partnership. The new partnership, called the UAlberta/NRC Nanotechnology Initiative, replaces the previous National Institute for Nanotechnology (NINT) collaboration. The renewed partnership will enable UAlberta and NRC to better accelerate and expand Canadian nanotechnology expertise and capacity, while continuing to drive world-class nanotech research, discovery and innovation.

NINT history
The former NINT collaboration between NRC, UAlberta and the Alberta Government was established in 2001, and was an unique nanotech hub of expertise and infrastructure including a $52.2 million, 20,000m2 purpose-built facility on the UAlberta campus.  The new Nanotechnology Initiative will leverage and build on the NINT built expertise and infrastructure.
