Tri-Agency Workshops
RSO supports researchers by offering a variety of sponsor-specific workshops throughout the year with an emphasis on Tri-Agency funding:
- Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)
- Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)
- Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
These workshops offer information on finding and applying for funding. The workshop material includes discussions on adjudication processes, application guidelines, evaluation criteria, checklists, and best practices common to strong applications. They are presented by the sponsor and/or U of A professors who have served on Tri-Agency peer review committees. Along with these federal government funding opportunities, RSO offers workshops on new and existing international, private, public and community based research funding sources such as Alberta Innovates, National Institutes of Health, etc.
Researchers can also attend workshops to learn about research funding support specific to the U of A.
Researchers should contact their faculty-assigned Research Partner for individual consultation and mentorship on finding potential and applying for research funding. Announcements of these workshops will be posted on this website and circulated by Research Partners as they are released.
