Submitting to RSO for Institutional Approval

In addition to the sponsor’s requirements, the university must review and approve all research proposals or applications for funding, prior to the proposal being submitted to the sponsor.

To obtain university review and approval, send RSO your completed and signed Request for New Application/Proposal/Project form along with a copy of your completed application/full proposal. For instructions on completing the form, click here.

Proposals (applications) must be submitted to RSO electronically as a complete single document including required signatures.  Submit the application or proposal to one of the following email addresses based on your faculty's affiliation:

Social Sciences & Humanities - rsossh@ualberta.ca
Health Sciences - rsohs@ualberta.ca
Natural Sciences & Engineering - rsonse@ualberta.ca

Note: Paper copies are only accepted when the sponsor requires original signatures and should be delivered to RSO at 222 Campus Tower (8625-112 Street).

Research facilitators will review, provide comments and sign submitted proposals (applications) on behalf of the university. You will be notified by RSO once your application has been reviewed and approved. The signed application will be accessible through the Researcher Home Page.

If you have questions, please contact your research facilitator.
