Campus Privileges

Academic Visitors will be eligible for the following on-campus privileges after registering with the Academic Visitors Office and obtaining a ONEcard.

Visiting and Exchange Professors:

On-campus access to licensed resources (databases, e-journals, e-books), using Guest Computing ID/Password provided by your host department. Term loan on University of Alberta Libraries book and periodical collection, using your ONEcard, and free interlibrary loan requesting.  See Borrowing Privileges - UAlberta: Students, Academics & Staff and How does Interlibrary Loan work? for details.

Research Award Recipients, Self-Funded Researches and Business Visitors etc:

On-campus access to licensed resources (databases, e-journals, e-books), using Guest Computing ID/Password provided by your host department.

Two week loan on University of Alberta Libraries book and periodical collection using your ONEcard, and interlibrary loan requesting for a fee.  See Borrowing Privileges - Members of the Public and Interlibrary Loan for Alumni/Visitors for details.

U-Pass/LRT/ETS Access:

If you require the use of the LRT or ETS (bus), you may purchase tickets, passes or pay per ride. 
Visit the Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) website for information.
Academic visitors cannot use their ONEcards to ride the LRT at no charge between South Campus and Royal Alexandra Hospital stations.
Academic Visitors also cannot obtain a U-Pass. The U-Pass is non-transferable and can only be used by the student to whom the U-Pass is issued. Visit the U-Pass page for details.
