New REMO Features for Human Research Applications

The Human module in the REMO system had two new features added: Reportable Events and recruitment with BeTheCure.ca

REO - 24 July 2019

As of July 22, 2019, the Human module in the REMO system had two new features added.

Reportable events, such as serious adverse events, protocol violations, safety reports, study suspension or participant complaints, can now be submitted via the Reportable Events button.

Highlights of the Reportable Events feature:

  • accessible from each of your studies in REMO;
  • available for submission at any time (regardless of amendment or renewal occurring, or closure of study);
  • submit more than one reportable event at a time;
  • any questions from REB regarding the event will arrive in your REMO Inbox;
  • you will receive formal acknowledgment (ie: letterhead approval);
  • REB can create a reportable event (ie: REB sometimes receives complaints from participants) to share a concern with study team.

See our webpage for more information regarding reporting requirements.

Be the Cure (bethecure.ca) is a website to allow Albertans to learn about health research studies that are actively recruiting human participants. The website allows the general public to browse and search currently recruiting studies through a user-friendly interface. Researchers will now to able to list their studies on Be the Cure via their REB 3 and REB 4 applications.
