Effective February 21, 2015 Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has made changes to the International Mobility Program (IMP). The vast majority of foreign nationals visiting and/or performing research or working temporarily at UAlberta enter Canada under the IMP. 

The International Mobility Program applies to foreign nationals who fall into the “LMIA-exempt” category, and include (but are not limited to): Post-Doctoral Fellows

Immigration Services will assess the information and if required, create and submit the required forms and payment to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).Once a response is received from CIC, Immigration Services will contact the department with further instructions.
