Ready, set, go!

Fasten yourself up for an active year on campus

Online classes… the sound of that definitely doesn't get you jumping up and down in your chair, does it?

This semester, we'll be navigating some unknown academic territoriy. There will probably be millions of technical difficulties, glitching will happen almost every session and some people will just not make it to class—including instructors.

It all sounds quite sad, but there are ways to make this year an amazing and memorable year. Here are some activities that could potentially serve as a distraction from reality.

VVC Hanson Fitness & Lifestyle Centre

Yes! The gym is finally open! You can book a drop-in time up to 5 days in advance, but there's limited capacity and you'll have to finish your workout in 90 minutes.

Here are the time slots:

  • Weekdays: 7:30 am, 9:15 am, 11 am, 12:45 pm, 2:30 pm, 4:15 pm and 6 pm
  • Weekends: 9 am, 10:45 am, 12:30 am and 2:15 pm

Having the opportunity to go to the gym and be around people is better than staying at home and working out with little to no weights!

Aquatic lane swim and climbing wall drop-in

Another option that could help release stress is to go swimming or wall climbing. These activities are quite popular on campus and people are always challenging themselves on the massive climbing walls, in the pool or swimming as if you were being chased by a shark—whatever works best for you.

  • Swimming drop-in times are available only during the weekdays at 8 AM and 4 PM with a time limit of 60 minutes
  • Climbing wall drop-in is at 5:30 PM with a time limit of 120 minutes
