Updated policy: No guests in residence buildings

22 September 2020

In light of the COVID-19 outbreak in St. Joseph’s College men’s residence, Residence Services is taking steps to further support your health and safety. Alberta Health Services has indicated that the risk of exposure remains LOW in our residence community.

No guests allowed, including residents from other buildings
The no guest policy has been extended to include residents from other buildings. This policy is in place to support the health and safety of our residence communities.

How long will the no guest policy be in place?
Policies are updated with the aim to provide residents with the best and safest options for their communities. You will be advised if policies are adjusted to align with preventative health measures directed by AHS and/or the U of A’s Public Health Response Team.

What if I want to attend programming in other buildings?
A lot of our programming is virtual through Expedition:Connect. In-person events will be approved on a case-by-case basis and limited to one residence community.

The common areas on the first floor of Nîpisîy House are open to building residents only. East Campus Commons will be closed to all residents.

Thank you for keeping our community safe!
