You are invited to join the Dental Hygiene team in support of the CIBC Run for the Cure. The team is called "Hygienists on the Run", and they have been running annually since 2004 in support of education and research for breast cancer.
In January, the school lost one of its faculty members, Dr. Sandy Cobban, who had a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Many people are impacted either directly or indirectly by this disease and losing someone gives us even more reason and passion to support this cause. The team is a post-secondary team affiliated with the University of Alberta. The team's captain is Alexandra Sheppard and co-captain, Kathy Sperling.
The team is comprised of 26 4th year, 3rd year and 2nd year dental hygiene students, faculty and staff. Two practice runs have been scheduled for Sunday, September 22, and Saturday, September 28, at 9:00 AM. Meet on the steps of the Dentistry Pharmacy Centre (at the University LRT station).
