Are you afraid of the dentist due to a fear of needles or treatment in general?

The School of Dentistry's Intravenous (IV) Conscious Sedation program is the only program of its type in Canada to provide a formal curriculum with comprehensive sedation and clinical training while providing charitable care.

Treatment is provided free of charge as long as the criteria is met - all new patients need to be seen for a screening FIRST before they are eligible for treatment. Dental care is restricted to simple fillings, extractions and cleanings.

Conscious sedation is an alternative to oral or inhaled anesthesia to help decrease patient anxiety, but allow patients to be awake and talk.

School of Dentistry is looking for patients for the IV Conscious Sedation Course during the dates of December 14-18, 2014.

If interested, please email dentce@ualberta.ca

The School of Dentistry will run the same program in February 2015.
