Day in the Life of Christine Dec

20 December 2017

Christine has been working as a Patient Services Clerk with Oral Medicine in the Kaye Edmonton Clinic since 2015. We took a few minutes one morning and spent time getting to know her a little better. Here's what she had to say.

As a Patient Services clerk, what is one of your proudest moments at work?

I enjoy interacting with the public when they come. I love being able to go above and beyond the normal call of duty to help them out. It could be a new patient who needs help on how to get to the clinic or just someone who needs help finding the place their appointment is ‑ even if it's on a different floor.

Tell us something we don't know about you that you are okay with sharing?

I spend most of my free time with my 4-year-old building Lego and playing with play doh.

If you weren't doing what you do now, what would you be doing?

My dream job is to work with seniors. When I would take my grandma to appointments it was the best time. I got to hear her stories about her life and we would reflect back on that. They have a lot of stories to tell.

What's the best advice somebody has ever given you?

Don't take a bad day and make it last a long time. It is what it is. Live in the moment and let it pass.
