The School of Dentistry is looking for patients requiring endodontics. This is a "win-win" situation for students and patients, as students need the hands-on clinical experience and patients receive care at a reduced fee, under the close supervision of an endodontist.
The cases that tend not to be suitable for referral to the student clinic are teeth with a crown, second molars, unrestorable crown, calcified canals where the canal is not clearly discernible on the radiograph, previous root canal, and/or exceptional anatomy (curvature, division within the roots).
