Day in the Life of Rachel Fennema

31 January 2019

Rachel Fennema has been working with the School of Dentistry for almost two years. Rachel wears a few different hats while working in the KAYE Edmonton Clinic. She is the periodontology graduate program administrative assistant, and a receptionist for GPR and the undergraduate programs. Let's get to know her a little more.

What is one of your proudest moments at work?

My proudest moment was when I received an email from one of our patients. She wrote a letter and gave it to my supervisor. Knowing I made an impact in their life was a proud moment for me.

Tell us something we don't know about you?

This year I have started to learn French, one day I would like to raise a bilingual family. I also have two ferrets, a skinny pig and a cat.

If you weren't doing what you do now, what would you be doing?

I would probably be doing something similar, but in private practice. If I could, I would be working from home and having more pets.

What's the best advice somebody has ever given you?

To listen to other people and to put yourself in their shoes. This is how you get a better understanding.
