Important information to note before your appointment:

  • The child must attend all appointments with a parent or legal guardian.
    • Only ONE parent or legal guardian can accompany the child to an appointment.
    • No other siblings/family members can accompany the child to an appointment.
  • The first appointment for new patients will consist of Diagnosis & Treatment Planning where a student will determine the treatment plan, the approximate duration of treatment and accompanying costs. There is a fee for this appointment.
  • In the event that a child is too anxious or that treatment is deemed too difficult for a dental student to complete, the child will be referred to an external specialist in pediatric dentistry.
  • ONE parent or legal guardian must be on-site for all appointments - not only in case of emergency but in case there is a change in the treatment plan which requires additional parental consent.

Added safety measures during COVID-19:

  • The parent or legal guardian may stay in their vehicle or the designated waiting room while waiting for their child. If the parent or legal guardian chooses to wait in their vehicle, they will receive a phone call when the child is ready to be picked up.
  • A parent or legal guardian who is arriving by public transit must remain in the designated waiting area while waiting for their child.
