Sharon Compton, Director
Sharon's primary research area includes oral health issues in older adult populations and uses qualitative methods in her research. Sharon is involved in various topics in educational research. Her teaching includes two fourth-year dental hygiene courses delivered online.

 

Hollis Lai, Researcher
Hollis splits his time between the Undergraduate Medical Education office and the ERSU. His research interest is education measurement, learning sciences, technology in assessment, test development and automatic item generation. His focus within the Unit is to engage in and support educational research with a focus on quantitative methods, data management and analysis.

 

Arnaldo Perez, Education Research Methodologist
Arnaldo is our educational research methodologist. He supports faculty members in designing, conducting and reporting educational research projects. His areas of research are related to professional development, including educational research, active learning, outcome assessment (e.g., intended and actual use of educational innovations), and qualitative research.

 

 

 

Gisele Gaudet-Amigo, Director, Student and Academic Services
Gisele is our School of Dentistry's Curriculum Coordinator. She works on the development and implementation of our curriculum management plan for the ongoing review and the evaluation of the curriculum. She also ensures that curriculum decisions are made and implemented, meeting best practices in dental education.

 

 

Yuli Berlin-Broner, Researcher
Yuli is a clinician, specialist in endodontics. She splits her time between co-coordinating and teaching undergraduate endodontics (pre-clinical, simulation lab, and clinical), research, and delivery of patients’ care. Her research interests include the incorporation of micro-computerized tomography (micro-CT) to enhance undergraduate endodontic education, as well as dental trauma and connections between endodontics and general health. Her focus within the unit is to support educational research and to facilitate collaboration between clinical aspects and foundational sciences.
