SLIS Entrance

SLIS is a home for intellectually curious and community-focused people interested in pursuing socially meaningful and academically rigorous graduate education and a wide range of careers in the library and information studies field. We welcome applicants with compassion and conviction who seek to engage and contribute to communities locally, nationally, and internationally while growing and evolving as professionals. If you are creative, adaptable, and thrive on challenge and change, if you love learning and value diversity and social justice, SLIS is the choice for your professional future.

Our School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) is home to the only American Library Association-accredited Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) program on the Canadian Prairies. For students interested in distance learning, SLIS also boasts the only entirely online MLIS degree program in the country.

In addition to the MLIS, we offer a combined Master of Arts in Humanities Computing/Master of Library and Information Studies (MA/MLIS) and a combined Master of Business Administration/Master of Library & Information Studies (MBA/MLIS) with the Alberta School of Business.
