Dr. Margaret Mackey, who was editor-in-chief for North America of the international quarterly Children's Literature in Education for eleven years has temporarily taken up this post again. This action follows
the sudden death in early March 2011 of the current editor, Dr. Lawrence Sipe of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Mackey, who acted as editor between 1996 and 2007, will now serve until a permanent successor can be found for Dr. Sipe.
"The journal remains open for business as usual, even as we mourn the huge loss of Larry Sipe, a terrific editor, a wonderful scholar, and an excellent man," said Dr. Mackey.
