Originally from Palestine, I was born and raised in Saudi Arabia. I received my B.Eng from Imperial College in London, UK and my M.Sc from KAUST in Saudi Arabia where my majors for both degrees was Materials Science and Engineering. Following 4 years of industrial experience with SABIC, I decided to move to the University of Alberta and pursue my graduate studies, working for Dr. Jillian Buriak. I was attracted to the University because of its unique research infrastructure and interdisciplinary research. My research will focus on bottom-up self-assembly of nanomaterials for memory and energy storage applications. Outside of work, I mainly enjoy spending my time with my wife and children, play football (or should I say soccer?), and occasionally learning some song covers on guitar.
I was born in Niagara Falls, ON. and completed my BSc at the University of Western Ontario working in labs focused on material chemistry. Knowing that I wanted to work on photovoltaics or batteries, I applied and was fortunate enough to join the Buriak group in September of 2017! I currently work on all-small molecule organic photovoltaic devices. In my spare time I like to discover and listen to music. I love to do triathlons, hike, and camp out in the mountains!
