I am studying unique melt-bearing mantle xenoliths from the Chidliak kimberlite field, Baffin Island. This involves a comprehensive major and trace element study to address the origin of the melts, as well as determining the pressures and temperatures of origin of the xenoliths. Ultimately, this study will determine the nature of the metasomatic event preserved in the xenoliths and the implications this had on diamond preservation or destruction.
