Projects

The Student Innovation Centre connects students to technology and expertise to help them bring their ideas to light & empowers them with a creative environment; but it's the innovative thinking of the students that truly makes the centre shine.

Student-led success

From the iGEM team working to combat diseases in honeybees with genetically-engineered organisms, to AlbertaSat, launching the first-ever made-in-Alberta satellite of their own design, the projects created by UAlberta students showcase the creativity and determination that embody innovation.

By giving students the chance to see how others succeed, and fostering a community where ideas and inspiration are shared, the Student Innovation Centre helps students explore their ideas with not only a support network of staff, but alongside their peers as well.

Check out projects that students are currently working on in the Student Innovation Centre and learn from the hurdles they've overcome. Reading their first-hand experiences can help to demystify the processes of innovation and entrepreneurship, grow confidence, and might just be the inspiration you need to start your own journey.
