Novice

Our Novice age division (2008, 2009 & 2010 birth years) provides athletes with an opportunity to Explore their interest in hockey and continue to improve their skills at an accelerated rate. For our youngest age group, this means an advanced introduction to full ice games and associated rules and concepts. Our older groups within the Novice division continue to progress their skills and improve their knowledge and understanding of the game.

Teams will consist of a maximum of 15 skaters and 2 goaltenders, the majority of which are assembled by each team’s corresponding coach. A select number of roster spots may be provided to additional players for the opportunity to try-out for their respective teams prior to the start of the Spring season. A Golden Bears Hockey Expert will be present at all try-out sessions (if necessary) and the final roster decisions will reside with the coach of each team.
