Golden Bears and Pandas Curling operates a one-of-a-kind Junior Program for aspiring young curlers between the ages of 8 and 17. Our Junior Program builds on the recent success of our Junior Varsity and Varsity teams, which have won a combined total of 17 Alberta or Western, 8 Canadian, and 3 World titles over the past 6 seasons. In fact, the majority of the curlers on these teams were part of our Junior Program at some point in their development.
Our Junior Program provides opportunities at the Tyke (ages 9-10), Pee-Wee (ages 11-12), Bantam (ages 13-14), and Juvenile (ages 15-17) levels. In all cases, our curlers are guided by well-trained coaches who meet all the requirements of the Green & Gold Sport System’s Coach Pathway. These coaches provide high quality technical and tactical instruction, and oversee competitive experiences.
Regardless of the age group, all curlers benefit from the Green & Gold Sport System’s innovative AIM Program
, which is designed to help them build a strong general athletic foundation to support their curling development. This is all part of a comprehensive curriculum that has been developed in close consultation with the Head Coach of Golden Bears and Pandas Curling.
