U15 Curling is a great way for young athletes to Engage in the sport, and to enhance their skills at the same time. This program gives curlers access to a 90-minute on-ice session when the main focus is on delivery technique and shot-making drills. It also includes a 15-minute AIM Warm-Up, which features a series of exercises designed to improve athleticism.
Previous curling experience is recommended. Curlers are asked to wear curling shoes or clean athletic shoes, along with warm athletic clothing when on the ice. Brooms and sliders are provided to those who need them. All curlers receive an official Golden Bears or Pandas curling jacket at the outset of their involvement in this program. The curriculum for U15 Curling has been developed in close consultation with the Head Coach of Golden Bears and Pandas Curling, and is consistent with the guidelines of Curling Canada’s official Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework. Recognizing that it must be booked in advance, FREE practice ice is available to registered U15 curlers most Fridays @ 1600.
