Convocation Ceremony

The 97th Annual Convocation of St. Stephen's College

The 97th Annual Convocation of St. Stephen’s College will consist of two graduation events: a Spring 2021 graduation celebration on May 10, and a Fall 2021 convocation ceremony on November 1.

As many will know, St. Stephen’s traditionally holds only one graduation event each year: a Fall convocation ceremony in early November. This year, the decision to allow students to graduate in both Spring and Fall is part of the College’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the Summer of 2020, we saw that the onset of the pandemic delayed many students in completing certain program milestones, which in turn meant those same students were unable to meet the convocation deadlines for Fall 2020. Rather than requiring those same students to wait until Fall 2021 to graduate (a full 12 months after when they planned to graduate!), we instead made the decision to add a special graduation event in Spring 2021, thus alleviating some of the stress and pressure caused by the pandemic.
