Governance
The Steadward Centre for Personal & Physical Achievement is an academic centre within the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation at the University of Alberta. Its day-to-day operations are overseen by the TSC director who reports directly to the dean of the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation.
Three advisory committees have been established to accomplish the centre's mission and strategic directions: the Management Advisory Committee, the Scientific Advisory Committee and the Education Advisory Committee. Representation on these committees is Pan-Albertan and comprised of community members, researchers, health-care professionals, key funders and community partners.
The centre is also pleased to work closely with the registered society, Friends of The Steadward Centre, which operates under the mandate to support and advocate for programs, participants and initiatives of The Steadward Centre. This group is key to the centre's ongoing work, providing a voice for the community, generating financial support and sharing our collective story.
