The Steadward Centre for Personal & Physical Achievement is an academic Centre within the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation at the University of Alberta. Operationally, the day to day operations of the Centre are overseen by the Centre Director who reports directly to the Dean of the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation
In order to accomplish the mission and strategic directions of the Centre, three advisory committees have been established—the Management Advisory Committee, the Scientific Advisory Committee, and the Education Advisory Committee. Representation on these committees is Pan-Albertan and comprised of community members, researchers, healthcare professionals, key funders and community partners.
The Centre is also pleased to work closely with the registered society called Friends of The Steadward Centre, which operates under the mandate to support and advocate for programs, participants and initiatives of The Steadward Centre. This group is key to the ongoing work of the Centre, providing a voice for the community, generating financial support and sharing our collective story.
