Admissions and Recruitment
Objective 1 – Strategies i, ii, iii, iv
The Registrar’s Office, University of Alberta International, and Digital Strategy collaborated to launch a new admissions website and improve the prospective student web experience. The prospective student experience was further streamlined the with a new bundled application process for admission and residence.
Financial support remains key to building a diverse and inclusive student community—in November of 2017, the university celebrated an additional $1 million gift to the Métis Scholar Awards Endowment Fund, now one of the largest endowments at the University of Alberta.
Truth and Reconciliation
Objective 4 - Strategies i, iii
A gathering of Indigenous alumni brought more than 20 former students back to North Campus for three days in October. They began a discussion, along with university leadership, to form both a Grand Council of Indigenous Elders and an Alumni Chapter at the University of Alberta.
