Student Mental Health
Objective 19 – Strategy ii
In September 2017, the Government of Alberta announced $2.6 million in mental health funding for post-secondary institutions in Edmonton, with $1 million allotted to the U of A. This renewed funding will continue to bolster mental health programs that support students.

Objective 21 – Strategy v
One of the first tasks following the launch of For the Public Good was to develop equitable, meaningful, and relevant measures to monitor progress toward strategic goals. Twelve performance measures were announced in October of 2017, with an extended list of 21 measures published in a supplemental report in December.

The Office of the Registrar, Financial Services, and IST collaborated to provide electronic T4A forms for students who receive awards, scholarships, prizes, and bursaries. Electronic T4As are projected to be ready in February, 2018.
The Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research also launched an improved graduate admissions system (GSMS) in collaboration with IST. A new thesis deposit system is under development.
Objective 22 – Strategies ii, iii
To achieve the ambitious aspirations to advance teaching, learning, and research outlined in For the Public Good, the University of Alberta is now in the process of addressing some key financial issues and developing new financial planning tools and processes to establish strong financial and operational foundations—these were the subject of two posts on The Quad and a campus forum last semester.
