Become a Centre for Innovation and Technology

  • The OGS is working with Innovative Canadians for Change (ICChange), an Edmonton-based NGO, and its partners to develop and scale innovative and low-cost medical devices that will the provision of enable safe and cost-effective surgery in resource-limited settings.

Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH)

  • AMPATH is a consortium of academic health centers including the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital who have partnered with the Kenyan Ministry of Health to pursue a tri-partite mission of care, training, and research. A yearly membership supplies safe accommodation and supervised electives for residents and medical students.

Annual 6-week elective for the acute trauma care fellow

  • This 6-week elective, initiated in March of 2015, allows the acute trauma care fellow to participate in surgical care at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, Kenya. The expectation of the fellow is to participate in teaching residents, help collect data for ongoing research projects, and gain experience and knowledge within the confines of a resource-limited setting.

GSICU International Fellowship

  • The 6-month GSICU International Fellowship at the UAH helps to build capacity among faculty at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. This fellowship can be tailored to the needs of the individual and their academic and professional goals.
