The Department of Surgery welcomes Dr. Blaire Anderson (top right - photographed with three other transplant surgeons in Nebraska), a hepatobiliary, pancreatic and abdominal transplant surgeon who is Canada’s fourth female transplant surgeon.

Dr. Anderson has completed two fellowships at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and Barnes-Jewish Hospital Siteman Cancer Center at Washington University in St. Louis, where her clinical work covered liver, biliary, and pancreas oncology, intestinal rehabilitation, multivisceral, kidney, pancreas and liver transplantation.

Her research included oncology clinical outcomes in pancreas resection and organ utilization. Dr. Anderson also researched gender disparities in surgery.
