Abstract Submission

Important Information About Abstract Submission

A graduate student, resident, fellow and postdoc registered with the Dept of Surgery at the U of A may submit only one abstract as principal (presenting) author. Applicants must be registered in the Department of Surgery as a resident, graduate student, fellow or postdoctoral fellow. The Primary Supervisor or a member of the Supervisory Committee of the research must be a Faculty member in the Department of Surgery.  This competition is not open for presentation of studies done as part of a residency, fellowship or a graduate program in another department where the primary final disposition of that research is for another department (e.g. thesis).

Please note that if you have been accepted to present at Tom Williams Surgical Research Day and hold an academic (clinical or non-clinical) appointment, you will not be eligible to compete for the prizes.

The abstract must include new research not previously submitted for a Department of Surgery Research Day.

Abstract submission deadline for 2021 is February 19, 2021.

You will receive an email confirmation verifying receipt of your abstract within 3 business days. If you do not receive this confirmation, email surgrsch@ualberta.ca or by phone at 780-492-9790.

All applicants will be notified regarding the status of their abstract (successful vs. unsuccessful) via email.
