Green Buildings

The University of Alberta is working to make all our buildings green. Through sustainable planning, design, construction, renovations and operations, the university creates greener places to study, live and work on campus.

Green Buildings Library

With more than 200 buildings and more than 1.5 million square metres of space across our five campuses, the university has many opportunities to incorporate sustainability into our infrastructure and operations.

  • Help more university buildings earn a valid green building certification.
  • Educate students, faculty, staff and visitors on green building design.
  • Improve information systems, organizational processes and project management methods for green building planning, documenting and certifying.
