Learning and Programs


Offices, student groups and campus organisations can access hands-on training in how to adopt sustainable workplace practices. Gain a real understanding for sustainability issues, as well as useful tips for taking action.

From farm to fridge

The options available in the grocery store can be overwhelming: paper, plastic or re-usable; local or organic; bulk or packaged? What is the best choice? We will examine some common grocery store conundrums you have to make everyday surrounding the food you eat. You will leave this workshop armed with information on how to reduce the environmental impact of your food choices.

Be green and clean – simple green cleaning solutions

Open your cupboard or peer under your sink... everyday household items can be used as effective and eco-friendly cleaning supplies! Learn more about the draw backs to chemical-laden cleaners, the benefits of green cleaning solutions and how simple it can be to start cleaning green. Using readily available ingredients in your home, you will walk away with green cleaning tips, money saving recipes and your very own home-made cleaner.

Green purchasing at UAlberta

University faculty and staff are invited to learn more about how to choose environmentally-friendly goods and services by hosting a ‘Story of Our Stuff’ presentation in their unit or faculty. This interactive presentation shares tips about how to reduce your purchasing footprint and provides opportunities for feedback and questions.
