About the Program
Sustainability Scholars is a partnership between the City of Edmonton and the university (Office of the Provost, Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research, Office of Sustainability, and Career Centre).
The program aligns with the university’s Sustainability Plan, which calls for viewing sustainability experts in the community as teachers and mentors, and strengthening student research experience in Alberta’s socioeconomic and ecological future.
Sustainability Scholar positions open each January. Check the university’s Career Centre for postings!
Sustainability Scholars supports these objectives:
- To create opportunities for the university’s graduate students and professionals working for civic institutions and local corporations to share ideas and information.
- To advance professional development opportunities for the university’s graduate students, especially in sustainability.
- To inspire the university’s graduate students to apply their knowledge to real-world, urban challenges.
