Notice: Suspicious behaviour in women’s washrooms

University of Alberta Protective Services (UAPS) has received reports in recent weeks of an unidentified male who has been observed behaving suspiciously inside women’s washrooms in the Fine Arts Building and Rutherford Library North.

UAPS has advised Edmonton Police Service about two alleged incidents that occurred on Sept. 28 and Oct. 7. UAPS received the following description of a man identified in a washroom on Sept. 28:

  • 25 to 40 years
  • Average to tall in height
  • Thin build
  • Long hair (possibly in a ponytail)
  • Wearing a black leather jacket, jeans, a dark coloured shirt, a blue ball cap, and dirty, old grey sneakers. He may also have been carrying a black backpack.

Anyone who observes suspicious activity near or inside a campus washroom or change room is asked to contact UAPS immediately at 780–492–5050. In the event of an emergency, phone 911.
