Have you met Steven, Assistant Director of the Canadian Institute for Ukrainian Studies? Spend the next few minutes getting to know him a little better.
What is your first U of A memory?
It was in 2007 when we just arrived from Texas and visited a friend who was a graduate student at U of A. On seeing at the campus, we fell in love with the university. I promised myself that I would work with the university at some point. That happened in 2014 and it has been a great journey since then.
What’s something your coworkers don’t know about you?
Many of my co-workers don’t know that I have taught several courses in several universities in the US and China.
What’s your favourite distraction?
Co-workers dropping by with good news e.g. donation cheques.
If you were enrolling in one course, program or degree right now, what would it be?
It would be a course in Law.
What’s a weird pet peeve you have?
Asking questions during a movie.
If you could see any live performance tomorrow, what would it be?
An orchestra concert.
What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
Add more fun to work. Incorporate some fun while working hard
What’s one thing you can’t live without?
I can’t live without reading. I love reading!
