Jeremy Eric Gordaneer (May 9, 1972 - August 31, 2021) was a beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle, cousin, collaborator, and friend, as well as a gifted painter, scenic designer and sculptor.

As the son of Canadian painter James Gordaneer, RCA, he grew up surrounded by art and took an interest in painting at an early age. He attended the Camosun College Fine Arts program in Victoria followed by a degree in Theatre Design from the University of Victoria (1999). For many years he was a vital member of the theatre and dance community in Montreal where he was a distinguished scenic painter, collaborator and designer. He had just completed his MFA in Scenic Design at the University of Alberta (2021).

Predeceased by his father, he is mourned by so many beloveds: his wife Thea Patterson, mother Miria, his daughters Sylvie and Clea (Lina Branter), his sister Alisa, (Joseph Hoh), his niece Magritte and nephew Sacha, cousins Jason and Miles Black (Linde Looy), countless friends across Canada and around the world. Words cannot express how much he will be missed, nor his significance to each and every person who knew and loved him.
