The University of Alberta owns all the trademarks of the institution and its affiliated units, and as such has responsibility for the use of all its registered trademarks. The Trademark Program Office is responsible for protecting the university’s name and insignia, for ensuring that those marks are associated with quality goods and services, for ensuring that said goods positively represent and reflect the university’s academic heritage, and that those products stimulate public awareness and support of the university through the commercial use of the registered name and trademarks.
Commercial licensing for the University of Alberta trademarks is managed through the Trademarks Program Office in Marketing and Communications, University Relations.
