Alexis Ksiazkiewicz leads institutional Government and Community Relations strategies. Over the past fifteen years, she has held leadership roles within the advanced education sector in constituency organizations, advocacy groups, provincial and national associations, and at the University of Alberta. In her current role, she works to advance the university's reputation and priorities with government and stakeholders locally, provincially and nationally. Alexis holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in Political Science from the U of A and has completed a program on change leadership at Rotman School of Management.

Andrea Smith

Senior Administrative Officer 

Andrea Smith (B. Eng. McGill University), MBA (University of Victoria) is University Relations' Senior Administrative Officer (SAO). Andrea uses her extensive leadership experience building businesses from strategic assessment though to realisation to enrich University Relations' vibrant and dynamic work environment. A civil engineer with an MBA, Andrea's professional skills coupled with her eclectic leadership experience in corporate, not-for-profit and public institutions (universities) in Montreal, Victoria, and The Hague provide important insight and direction to the University Relations' portfolio. Prior to her position at the university, Andrea was Senior Director of Business and Operations at Genome Quebec, where she was instrumental in raising more than $70 million for pharmacogenomics research and establishing a profitable quality-compliant genetic testing core facility.

Anne Bailey

Anne Bailey

Executive Director: Strategic Communications

Anne Bailey (BA University of Alberta, MA Queen's University, PhD, University of Western Ontario) has had a 20 year career in the academy, including 13 years of experience working in a variety of capacities at the University of Alberta. Her roles at UAlberta have ranged from instructor in the Department of English, research project manager in the Department of Drama, and communications professional in the Faculty of Arts, University Relations, and the President's Office. As Director of Internal Communications, Anne led the team responsible for institutional communications directed to the university's primary internal audiences: faculty, staff, and students. In her current role she oversees the institution's strategic communications, both internally and externally.
