Strategic
The Strategic layer is comprised of the University Information & Information Systems (UIIS) and the President's Executive Committee - Strategic (PEC-S). UIIS makes recommendations to PEC on strategic directions for university information and information systems. Institutional data, records, and information (collectively referred to as "information") and the information systems supporting that information are strategic assets for the University of Alberta; therefore, appropriate governance for management and use of these assets is critical. Information, its privacy and security, and the information systems supporting it are tightly interwoven. PEC-S guides and receives input from UIIS, and serves as interface to the University's senior leadership.
