The scope of the Staff Advisory Team is as follows:

  • Provide feedback and advice on communications affecting support staff
  • Identify and raise SET program issues relevant to staff
  • Identify and raise academic restructuring issues relevant to staff
  • Propose solutions to key issues affecting staff to ensure the successful delivery of the transformation

For more information about the selection criteria, the selection process, time commitments and the expected outcomes of the team, please refer to the Terms of Reference.

Expressions of interest

Members are sought who are active administrative and support staff members of the University of Alberta community and deeply committed to its future. To apply, please fill out the form below, which consists of general information, optional self-identification questions, and a short statement explaining why you’re interested in becoming a member of the Staff Advisory Team.

Once submitted, your expression of interest will be forwarded to your respective Faculty or Support Unit leadership. Leaders will review the expressions of interest and will submit a maximum of three (3) individuals.

Based on those nominated expressions of interest, the SET Executive Lead in consultation with Service Excellence Steering Committee (SESC), as appropriate, will appoint the Staff Advisory Team that will provide:

  • An appropriate blend of Faculty and functional membership, staff teams, and levels of hierarchy, ensuring that one individual is selected from the nominations each area put forward.
  • A deep and broad understanding of the operations of the University of Alberta.
  • In alignment with the University’s EDI strategic plan and recognizing that it is essential to have a range of perspectives, including those that are historically at risk of not being heard, we encourage women, members of visible minority groups/people of colour, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ2S+ community to apply.
